About these terms
These terms apply when you use the VRISA website, adopt a tree, make a gift that funds new trees, or join the Olive Oil Club. By placing an order or sending a form you agree to them. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean VRISA.
Adopting a tree
- An adoption is a symbolic sponsorship of one of our trees for one year. It does not give you ownership of the tree, its fruit, the land or the oil.
- We assign your tree within two business days and send your certificate by email. We send updates through the seasons.
- Adoptions renew automatically each year at the price shown at the time of renewal, unless you cancel. We remind you by email before each renewal.
- If a tree is lost to weather, disease or age, we will assign you another tree for the rest of your adoption.
Plant a seed gifts
- Gifts that fund new trees are used to plant and care for young olive trees in the orchard. We plant in the planting season, so your tree may go in the ground some weeks or months after your gift.
- Gifts are not tax-deductible unless your receipt clearly says otherwise.
- Monthly gifts continue until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and the change takes effect before your next charge.
The Olive Oil Club
Automatic renewal. When you join the Olive Oil Club, you agree that your membership continues and your card is charged the plan price on the schedule you chose (monthly, every three months or every six months) until you cancel. The price, schedule and contents are shown before you pay and in your confirmation email. Skip, pause, change plan or cancel at any time. Changes take effect before your next charge. You can cancel online using the link in any of our emails or by contacting us, and it takes effect before your next charge.
- We currently ship within the United States. Delivery times are estimates.
- Olive oil is a natural product and its flavour and colour change from harvest to harvest.
- If a bottle arrives damaged, send us a photo within 14 days and we will replace it at no cost.
- Gift memberships run for the length you choose and do not renew automatically.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in US dollars. We may change prices for future renewals or deliveries; we will tell you by email before a change affects you, and you can cancel before it takes effect. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider.
Visits
Visits to the orchard are by arrangement only. The orchard is a working farm with uneven ground and equipment; visitors are responsible for their own safety and must follow our instructions while on site.
Our website
The text, design and images on our website are owned by us or used with permission. Photographs on the site may include stock images. You may not copy or reuse them without permission.
Limits on our liability
We work hard to deliver what we promise, but to the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for delays caused by events outside our control such as weather, crop failure or carrier delays. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
